The Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international partners, announced that it has successfully carried out planned security operations in Masaajid Ali Guduud in the Middle Shabelle province and the Buq-aqable area in the Hiiraan region. These operations resulted in the elimination of 29 Al-Shabab members, including a senior commander responsible for explosions in the Hiiraan province. According to a statement released by NISA, the first operation took place in an area located 3 km south of Masaajid Ali Guduud, where 70 Al-Shabab members were organized and armed. NISA confirmed that these members were planning to carry out attacks to disrupt security in the Middle Shabelle province. Acting on this intelligence, NISA forces, along with international partners, launched an attack that resulted in the death of 23 Al-Shabab members. The second operation took place in the Buq-aqable area of the Hiiraan province, where NISA successfully eliminated 5 Al-Shabab members, including a senior commander known as Abdirahman, also known as Abdi Mudalib. According to NISA, Abdi Mudalib was responsible for organizing and planning attacks in the Hiiraan region, including recent raids in Buulo-burde and Jalalaqsi. NISA emphasized that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to target the Al-Shabab group, with the Somali Federal government intensifying its military and intelligence operations in various parts of the country to enhance security and weaken the operational capabilities of Al-Shabab.
