Two members of the Somali Federal Parliament announced their resignation as deputy ministers yesterday, citing the Somali Federal Government’s constant interference in regional states. MP Mohamed Adan Mohamed, the deputy Minister for Planning, Investment and Economic Development, stated that he could not continue to support the current leadership of the country, as the policies of the incumbent Somali President are fueling hostilities and creating division among the Somali people. He specifically mentioned the government’s interference in the Federal Member States as a major concern. MP Isak Mohamud Mursal, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, also resigned, citing the government’s failure to uphold national agreements, constant meddling, and violation of the constitution.
