Reports from Sheebaab area in Puntland’s Bari region say that the ISIS group launched mortar shells in the area, resulting the demolition of the telecommunication antenna belonging to Golis Telecom Company. Local sources from the area confirmed that the antenna was the most crucial telecommunication center connecting the areas of Dhasaan, Shebaab, Dadaar, Gaatir Odan, Qurac and the rural areas surrounding Buqo-Aleed all the way to Miiraale, and its destruction caused the disruption of telecommunication services in those areas. Officials from the area say that this is the second time that the telecommunication antenna has been demolished within this year. This telecommunication center was raided in March 2026. The attack has been blamed on that ISIS group was responsible for carrying out the raid. Meanwhile, Golis Telecommunication Company tried to repair the antenna on April 24, 2026, and an explosion that took place in the area resulted in the death of two Golis Telecommunication Company employees, and three soldiers who were part of the security operation sustained injuries. Puntland security agencies have not so far issued an official statement regarding the attack. However, officers from the area have confirmed that the telecommunication center was severely damaged.
