The President of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, together with his delegation, participated the official launching of First Somaliland-Israeli Forum, which was held in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Thursday. The Forum was jointly organized by the Institute of Export and the Economic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-and brought together more than hundred business leaders, investors, and representatives of major companies in Israel. The main objective of organizing Somaliland-Israeli Forum is to strengthen the bilateral economic cooperation, with focus on expanding business opportunities, direct investment, and genuine multilateral cooperation between the two sides. In addition, it was discussed in depth how to facilitate trade and create environment that promotes investment between the two countries. During the Forum Meeting, ideas were exchanged related to the development of economic infrastructure, energy, water, agriculture, health, communication, and modern services, all of which are considered most significant pillars of economic growth. Additionally, the significance transfer of knowledge and modern technology, which is expected to play a major role in the improvement of services and development of work skills in the country has been highlighted. Somaliland President has delivered a key note speech at the Forum, and highlighted that not only business doors are open to Israeli businessmen, investors, and entrepreneurs, but the hearts of the Somaliland people are also open to them. President Irro confirmed that Somaliland remains ready to welcome businessmen and investors from Israel, and that it is a country with strategic opportunities in an important intentional trade corridor, which makes it an attractive place for investors. Finally, this Forum is a symbol of strengthening relationship between Somaliland and Israel, and to ensure effective economic cooperation, which can lead to a positive development and deepen mutual understanding between the two sides.
