The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in coordination with international partners, carried out a planned operation resulting in the successful elimination of 33 Al-Shabab militia members, the dismantling of a Land Cruiser vehicle, and the destruction of Al-Shabab’s hideouts in the Guulane area of the Middle Shabelle region. The first operation targeted a house where Al-Shabab leaders and members were present, resulting in the successful elimination of 15 members. The house, which was used to organize and plan terrorist attacks, was completely destroyed. The second operation targeted Al-Shabab members hiding in the Guulane area, resulting in the successful elimination of 18 members. A Land Cruiser vehicle, used for transporting their militias, was also destroyed, foiling their organized attacks. The operation was carried out after the National Intelligence Agency confirmed that at least 90 Al-Shabab members were gathered in the area to carry out acts of insecurity. This was followed by planned measures to weaken the threat posed by Al-Shabab.
