Somaliland Quality Control Agency at the port of Berbera had seized a vessel carrying 1489 bags of flour unsuitable for human consumption, and obligated the ship’s captain to return the shipment to the exporting country.

The ship left from Egypt and docked on the port of Berbera.

The consignment of the expired flour which the agency declared unfit for human use penalized the local traders from Somaliland and the ship to pay a fine.

The agency from Somaliland issued its finding over the expired bags of flour on the 25th of December, 2019.

The Quality Control Agency recently is conducting investigations into the products that are imported from overseas to check if they are up to bar.
