Somalia has declared Deputy Special Representative Commission Chairperson to Somalia (D/SRCC), Simon Mulugo “persona non grata” on Thursday. The AU deputy envoy to Somalia has been ordered to leave Somalia within 7 days with effect from today. Mr. Simon Mulungo who is Ugandan by nationality is alleged of his engagement of activities that are incompatible with Amisom’s mandate and Somalia’s strategic security. A statement from Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation said that Somalia is ready to renew its cooperation with the Africa Union (AU).
