Somaliland President to meet with Israeli Prime MInister

Somaliland President, Mr. Abdirahaman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, together with his Israeli counterpart, Mr. Isaac Herzog, held a joint press briefing after holding discussions in the Israeli Presidential Palace, announcing that they will continue to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries. President Irro highlighted that the discussions he held with his Israeli counterpart reflect the strengthening relationship between Israel and Somaliland, with both sides reiterating their commitment to work together to build a future based on cooperation, collaboration and shared mutual opportunities that serve the interests and the development of both peoples. For his part, the President of Israel, Isaack Herzog, announced that it is time to go beyond the declaration of of relations and reach a level of strengthening the real cooperation between the two peoples. He noted that the two sides share the same strategic interests and challenges, particularly the fight against extremist groups, maintaining regional security and sea lanes. President Irro also emphasized that it is a great honor in attending the lunch banquet hosted by the Israeli President. He expressed his deep gratitude to the Israeli President for his warm hospitality. Somaliland President is due to hold high-level meetings with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, and other senior Israeli officials.
