DIRE DAWA–Dire Dawa University was shut down on temporary basis last night following recurrent clashes between the students. Students living in the dormitory were told that the gov’t cannot guarantee their safety and well being and were informed to vacate the premises.
Most of the students packed their bags and left from the university building. The Somali students have joined with their family members and relatives residing in Dire Dawa. The university has recently seen repeated clashes and killings took place in the campus.
