The Ministry of Religion and endowment announces the registration process for religious schools (madrassas). The registration process will kick off on the 20th of March, 2019 and operators of independent and private schools are being encouraged to register where the process will be conducted nationwide. The ministry conducted the registration in Marodi Jeh prvince which commenced on the 27th of January, 2019. The Director General of the ministry, Mr. Adan Abdilahi Abdale together with the director in charge of mosques and madrassas Mr. Mohamed Ma’alin Adan held joint press conference and talked on the inspection that they conducted which was about the ongoing registration. Religious schools will also face regulation and inspection under the government plans. The government has embarked on new plan which is to probe the schools as well as the curriculum that they are teaching. The DG also spoke about that the preparation of the new curriculum for madrassas is going on.
