SL’s cabinet on Thursday approved a proposed 2022 budget of 20 % pay rise for the armed forces put forth by the finance minister Dr. Sa’ad Ali Shire.
President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, and accompanied by the Vice President, Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Saylici), chaired the 78th session of the cabinet members took place at the Presidential Complex early this morning.
Prior to the start, the Council heard briefing updates from the Minister of Interior, Hon Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, who briefed them about the overall security of the country and the military’s efforts in battling drug trafficking and other similar issues. On another note, the Minister shared with the Council the need to strengthen the monitoring processes of dynamic regional geopolitics in the Horn of Africa.
Dr Saad Ali Shire – the Finance Minister had delivered briefings on the 2022 annual budget. During the meeting, the cabinet ministers had their input the budget allocations and discussions.
