The Weather Forecast department at Somaliland’s ministry of agriculture issued warning that rains accompanied by strong winds will batter some regions in Somaliland in October this year. As usual, eastern regions and Hawd will receive summer rains. This was disclosed by the minister in charge of agriculture after having wrapped up meeting with parliament standing committees.
The Minister, Hon. Ahmed Mumin Seed has urged residents to benefit from rainy season and warned against the strong winds that will lash the aforementioned regions in Somaliland. The minister has announced that rain started to pour in some parts of Sanaag region. Change of climate will felt across the country said the minister in the days to come. Somaliland locates in semi arid land in the Horn of Africa where recurring droughts impacted the lives of rural communities that bank on rearing livestock as the backbone of its economy.
