UNHCR Somalia representative pays courtesy call to buildings constructed for impoverished families

A delegation from the National Displacement & Refugee Agency (NDRA) accompanied by UNHCR Somalia Representative, officials from Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and Danish Refugee Council (DRC) had paid a courtesy call to the port city of Berbera yesterday. The delegation was headed by head of Somaliland National Displacement Agency (NDRA). The objective behind the visit was to inspect and observe new building constructed for IDP’s and impoverished families living in Sahil province. They had toured a camp built to accommodate refugees that had fled from Yemen, the war torn country. They had paid a courtesy call to Berbera port. NDRA chairperson, Mr. Abdikarim Mohamed Ahmed alias Xinif had told that the mission of UNCHR country representative’s visit to Sahil region was to find facts on the ground pertaining to the projects that the refugee agency oversees in Somaliland. They commended Sahil provincial authority for the task that they are engaged with.
