HARGEISA– Police Commissioner and deputy interior minister Saturday 22 laid the foundation stone for the new Police Academy in Hargeisa for the first time.
The UK government is funding the new Somaliland police academy which is aimed at training police officers for the nation. Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Abdilahi Fadal Iman has said that this was the efforts of incumbent president Bihi to have robust police forces in Somaliland. Deputy interior minister, Hon. Mohamed Muse Dirie has expressed thanks to all individuals who assisted the project to be implemented in Somaliland.
Somaliland, a country without an international recognition for the last 27 years started building its armed forces from scratch without the support of the IC.
