Somaliland Mission to the UK and commonwealth, Ministry of planning and national development of Somaliland, with the Support of Somaliland Society UK are inviting you Saturday, 12 October, 5pm, at Hyat Palace Hotel, 24 Uxbridge Road, London, UB3 0JN to Somaliland Diaspora Investment Event. The overall objective of this event is to encourage Somaliland Diasporas residing in the United Kingdom, or UK entrepreneurs in Partnership with the Diaspora, to engage as entrepreneurs for the development of the private sector in Somaliland.
This event is part of global efforts to attract more foreign direct investment to the country. The increasing appetite and confidence shown by the foreign investors and diaspora business communities in investing in Somaliland is positive news. In the past couple of years Somaliland succeeded to attract big investors and the economy of the country is growing thanks to the booming private sector coupled with the government’s efforts to create the right environment for investors. The event will enable attendees to discuss current business opportunities and challenges in light of the recent government policy shift in attracting foreign direct investments and Diaspora business communities’ engagement.

Government of Somaliland recognizes the huge positive impacts the future Diaspora business communities’ contributions/investments will have in the Somaliland’s economy. Hence, the increased efforts from the government to create enabling environment for the private sector to grow. There are number of sectors open for foreign investors as well as for Somaliland’s Diaspora business communities. This event will serve a platform for the Somaliland Diaspora Business Community and discuss (ways to promote) the investment opportunities in Somaliland.
