The President of Somalia Federal Gov’t, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who is currently attending the high level meeting dubbed Antalya Diplomacy Forum which is underway in Turkey, has repudiated plans that Palestinians in Gaza will be relocated to Somalia.
He said: “We have not held discussions with anyone regarding the relocation of Palestinian refugees to Somalia. The Solution does not lie to relocate Palestinians refugees from their homeland and move them into another soil.”
He reiterated that Palestinians own their land. He further added that it is unacceptable whatever plan that deprives Palestinians from their rights to live in their homeland.
He pointed out that everyone involved in this matter is part of causing problems to the Palestinian people.
The statement from Somalia’s President comes at a time that news was spread saying that Somalia is among the countries where Palestinians living in Gaza will be relocated which has caused a debate.
The Somali Gov’t and its people stood by the Palestinian people for a long time.
