Somali President leading a high level delegation arrives in Djibouti

The Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, leading a high-powered delegation on Wednesday arrived in Djibouti for an official working visit.

The President and his accompanying delegation received a warm welcome upon arrival at Djibouti airport.

The Somali President is expected to hold high level meeting with his Djibouti counterpart, Ismail Omar Guelleh.

A statement issued from Villa Somalia said that the two leaders will discuss enhancing the existing bilateral ties two brotherly nations, and the strategic cooperation in the areas of security, trade, politics and strengthening the stability of the region.

The two leaders are also expected to discuss the war that Somali Federal Gov’t is engaged with Al-Shabab and ISIS  which was underway in parts of the provinces in the country.

Djibouti supports Somalia in the areas of security as Djibouti troops are currently serving as part of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (UASSOM)

Djibouti troops are currently stationed in Hiiraan region.
