Somali President Holds Talks with Ugandan Counterpart

The Incumbent Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who paid an official working visit to Kampala, after having received an invitation from his Ugandan counterpart, Yuweri Museveni. The two leaders had a productive discussions.

During the meeting, the two leaders lauded the long-standing relationship and cooperation between Somalia and Uganda.

They discussed the security of the region, while they underscored the need to maintain the security and the stability of the Horn of Africa.

The two leaders welcomed the commencement of the operations of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (UASSOM).

The two Heads of States emphasized the expedition of the int’l support for the implementation of Somalia’s National Plan for stabilization and building robust Somali armed forces.

The two leaders reiterated their commitment to the implementation of the MOU on defense cooperation that the two countries signed.

They informed the institution of the two countries involved to speed up the implementation of the defense cooperation.

The Somali President expressed thanks and appreciations to his Ugandan counterpart for the warm reception that he and his delegation were accorded.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud extended an official invitation to his Ugandan counterpart, Yuweri Museveni who will pay an official working visit to Mogadishu.

On his part, the President of Uganda, Yuweri Museveni thanked the Somali President for visiting Uganda .

On the other hand, the Ugandan President accepted the official invitation that the Somali President extended to him.
