Mortar Shells Land at Adden Adde Int’l Airport

Reports say that mortar shells landed at Adden Adde int’l airport in Mogadishu on Sunday.

Reports further indicate that local residents in Wadajir village in Banadir province could hear the terrible sounds of mortar shells.

Six mortar shells struck the heavily fortified Halane base, a strategic area housing AUSSOM Military Command, foreign embassies and int’l agencies.

Reports further confirm that mortar shells struck villages near the airport.

It is reported that several people sustained injuries.

Local resident in Kaawo Godey village in Mogadishu told the local media that a mortar shell landed in Kaawo Godey village, injuring two people.

The security agencies have not so far issued a statement regarding the mortar attack.
