The President of Hirshabelle State Hon. Ali Abdilahi Hussein alias Ali Gudlawe, yesterday embarked on an inspection visit to the defense lines of Somali National Army (SNA) and local forces stationed in Masjid Ali Guduud in Middle Shabelle Province.
Masjid Ali Guduud has become a frontline after suspected Al-shabab fighters attacked the town and briefly took control of the district on 26 March, 2025.
The Somali National Army (SNA) launched an attack against Al-Shabab militants who were stationed in the town on Sunday.
Reports indicated that the Somali troops fully took over the town although it was not officially confirmed.
Hirshabelle state president and other officials visited the Somali troops and local forces stationed in the frontlines in order to boost their moral.
Commanders briefed the president on the situation of the troops and the ongoing war against the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group of Al-Shabab.
The regional president told that foreign fighters with the support of local militants have waged a war against the Hirshabelle state.
Ali Gudlawe said: ” They say false narratives about the religion. They are religious pirates. They are fighting under the pretext of religion. We did not see a man who does not fast and does not pray and calling himself a religious. Al-Shabab militants wage war against the people and the country. They are a group of pirates. They want to take over the country. Those local Al-Shabab fighters who are leading the foreigners are idiots and stupid.”
Hirshabelle State leader expressed thanks to the Somali troops for their readiness to defend the country, the people and the religion.
He urged the Somali troops to continue the war that is aimed at eliminating the terrorist groups from the country.
Adala district administers Masjid Ali Guduud town where Al-Shabab militants were liberated two years ago and is important for the security of Middle Shabelle region.
