Somaliland President today oversaw the grand wishing of the 32nd batch of Lihle troops training school in Mandera.

The grand wishing ceremony saw the end of training for various forces in Somaliland armed forces including the police, immigration and the presidential guard.

Somaliland president Musa Bihi Abdi on Tuesday rejected the Saudi led Red Sea Council Initiative.

President Bihi said Somaliland was not included in the initiative and no one represents her in the council.

President Bihi in a graduation ceremony for the 32nd batch of Lihle school for training said Somaliland will not accept any infringement on its sovereignty.

He said: ” We will not accept any infringement on our sovereignty. No one substitutes to us in the Red Sea initiative. We are dealing with the 8 countries that announced the Red Sea Force. We will defend our sea and land . No one will come to our waters without our consent.”

Eight countries met in Riyadh on January 7th to sign the charter for the council of Arab and African states bordering the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

It is an organization that has been discussed in the diplomatic circles for few years now but ultimately came to fruition under the leadership of Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, President congratulated on the graduating police cadets and commended their willingness to serve for their country.

He urged them to uphold the values and the integrity of the armed forces and respect the insignia of the nation attached to their uniforms from now on.

The graduation ceremony saw the culmination of the training of various forces from Somaliland’s armed forces including police, immigration, and presidential guards.

The commanders of Somaliland’s armed forces have attended the event alongside with President Bihi.
