SL FM Yasin Mahmud Faraton has resigned from his post on Wednesday in order to run for parliament in 2021. Faraton’s resignation was accepted by President Musa Bihi Abdi. SL will hold parliamentary & local council elections on 31 May, 2021. Faraton is expected to visit Kulmiye’s headquarters tomorrow to formally be accepted as eligible candidate for the governing party. If Faraton is elected as SL lawmaker that will be a stepping stone for him to take part the race for the speakership of the House of Reps.
