Deputy chairman of Central Bank of Somaliland Mr.Abdirahman Sheikh Ismael Hassan held a one day seminar for Money Changers in Hargeisa. The deputy chairman stated that the objective of the training is to uplift the knowledge of the forex bereaus on rates of foreign exchange. They will also learn rules and regulations of how to manage foreign exchange rates to protect the stability of financial market from major upheaveals.
Addressing the participants at the venue the deputy governor of the Central Bank said “This a a new concept of training and the first of its kind in the country. We have decided to training Wadajir Money Changers Association, they are based here in Maroodijeeh region. We have a very close working relationship with their association.”
The deputy governor Mr.Abdirahman revealed that the cooperation between the Central Bank and the money changers has stabilized the Somaliland Shillings, this he stated was as a result of good fiscal policy initiated by the Central Bank of Somaliland.
He added the training will be spread to cover other regions of the country.
