Reports from Matabaan district say that armed clan assailants killed two herders in a settlement that is under Matabaan in Hiiraan region.
The killing occurred early Tuesday morning according to reports.
The two herders that have been killed hail from Hiiraan region, but the armed clan assailants who were responsible for the murder of the two men originate from Guriceel in Galguduud region. The two herders killed are named Bashiir Ganeey and Ali Dahir Roble.
They were a boy and his uncle, and were rearing livestock in a settlement that is under the administration of Matabaan district.
The armed clan assailants have immediately escaped from the area after they have carried out the killing of the two herders.
Matabaan district authority as well as security agencies have not issued a statement regarding the killing of the two men.
Reports from Mataan district say that tension is running high in the settlement where the killing took place. There is a fear that clan fighting is likely to erupt.
