Somaliland’s leading telecommunication company, Telesom, has stepped up to the plate by throwing its wallet and resources behind an effort to combat the coronavirus. On Sunday, Telesom, has announced it is committing $ 200 million in cash allocated in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. The company has also donated medical supplies worth of $ 640, 000. In a handing over ceremony, the Vice President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail alias Sayli’i, on behalf of the Committee for the preparedness and response against Covid-19 has received the contributions from Telesom officials. Somaliland is in situation where community transmission is spreading the deadly coronavirus pandemic in the country as tests conducted for the past couple of days have seen a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases reported across the nation.
