Hargeisa– Abdikarim Muse Oldon, a journalist in Somaliland, has fallen ill in prison. Doctors at Hargeisa General Hospital visited him in prison yesterday and took blood samples in a bid to conduct further tests. Mr. Oldan was suspected of having contracted the deadly coronavirus pandemic. Preliminary results of laboratory tests showed that Oldon does not have Covid-19. Oldon’s blood samples will be sent to Niarobi for further laboratory tests. But doctors have confirmed that the reporter is gravely feeling ill in prison and he is fatigue. Media associations and Human rights groups have called on Somaliland president to release the detained journalist on compassionate grounds so that he will reunite with his wife and children.
