Police officer killed coworker on broad daylight yesterday at police camp in Hargeisa.
Both police officers were on duty but reports confirmed that Mr. Ateye shot his colleague while in asleep. The two police officers had an argument although details are sketchy over the circumstances that led the police officer to gun down his coworker. The police officer who killed his colleague has been arrested by Somaliland security officers. The late police officer, Abdinasir Ahmed Adan has been buried today. The police who murdered his coworker hails from Awdal region and the other one hails from Gebiley. The Somaliland gov has not so far spoken of the police officer who shot his friend to death.It has become a norm in Somaliland to gun down men and women in uniform in the line of duty. It was just couple of months once two police officers were gunned down in Garadag. The two police officers were part of the Rapid, Response Unit which was created to thwart terror acts in Somaliland.
