The state is intent on removing occupiers or squatters from government premises.
The Minister of Public Works Hon. Abdirashid Haji Duale Qambi has notified squatters or occupiers of structures within government ministerial or parastatal premises to vacate the said locations forthwith within a month.
The notice was contained in a ministerial decree that specified the order circulated yesterday. “Notice is hereby given to all occupiers of locales at government or parastatal premises to vacate forthwith since it is not compatible with expected procedural norm ”, said the order. The order is of a one month notice that expires on March 28th, 2019.
