More than 40 Al-shabab fighters were killed in a well-planned operation which was jointly conducted by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), the Somali National Army (SNA), and the world friends which particularly occurred in El-Hareeri settlement in Hiiraan province.

The targeted operation was executed as planned and targeted an area where Al-Shabab fighters were hiding. During the operation, vehicles where Al-Shabab fighters onboard were destroyed.

Among those confirmed killed in the operation were Abu Anas, who was in charge for Al-Shabab for logistics and for combat units, Mohamed Ahmed “Herow”, who was the leader of a group belonging to the militant group of Al-Shabab.

Among those who were wounded in the operation were Nuur Abdi Rooble alias Nuunuule, who was responsible for Al-shabab’s operations across Hiiraan, Middle Shabelle, Mudug and Galguduud provinces, and Commander Jeylani, a top leader overseeing militant fronts, sustained serious injuries during the operation.

Those Al-Shabab leaders where some of them were killed in the operation while others sustained serious injuries are believed to be the masterminds of the mobilization of the last gasp attacks that the militant group of Al-Shabab launched on Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle provinces.
