The Health Minister of Somalia, Dr. Fowzia Abikar Nur, on Monday held discussions with US ambassador to Somalia, H.E Donald Yamomato and USAID senior officials via video conference. Dr. Fowzia has expressed thanks to the US government for its help in assisting Somalia’s efforts to contain the deadly Covid-19 pandemic. The Health Minister also discussed with US envoy on allocating funds intended to containing the coronavirus infection in Somalia. The US government pledged to further provide funds for the containment of the diseases is fast spreading in Somalia through community transmission. The health ministry has announced that Covid-19 cases has jumped to 436 cases over the past day and the death toll is around 23.
