Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa on Wednesday for talks on key bilateral issues, his office said.

The meeting has come amid frosty relations between the two countries after Mohamud’s decision to restore diplomatic ties with Egypt irked the Ethiopian government.

The two leaders “led their respective delegations in bilateral discussions in Addis Ababa,” Villa Somalia tweeted. “The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen collaboration on various forefronts & enhance cooperation towards a stable & prosperous Horn of Africa.”
