Gov’t to buy cereals from local farming communities

The National Food Storage and Disaster Prevention Agency will be buying farm produce from the farmers.

This was revealed by the head of the agency Mr. Faisal Ali Sheikh who, while speaking at a grand event that unveiled a large water dam in Allay-Baday, noted that the state would be buying cereals such as corn, wheat and sorghum from the farmers hence boost local growth.

The dam project was implemented by the government.

He said that the purchases would be made in collaboration with the ministries of finance and that of agriculture.

an institution, people always buy food crops from the farmers, and they always double that, saving it for the nation.

Mr. Feisal said that the state had been buying from the nation’s farmers before hence urged them to double their efforts since there is a ready market for them.

The news will go down well with local farmers who have since shown much elation due to the announcement.
