Somali Police Pledge to give a reward to individuals who bring information on Al-Shabab members

Banadir regional Police Chief, Colonel Mahdi Omar Mumin has promised that a reward will be given of up to $ 30, 000 to anyone who brings information that will lead the apprehension of Al-Shabab members.

He called on the residents in Banadir region to maintain the security and to keep at bay when it comes to individuals who want to disrupt the security.

He said: “I promise to the Somali populace that we will double our efforts in heightening the security. I say to the populace that you should put your confidence on the security agencies, the new Banadir regional authority and other agencies at regional and Federal levels.”

Colonel Mahdi who spoke to the media has urged the residents in Mogadishu to cooperate fully with the security agencies in maintaining the peace in the capital Mogadishu. He sent a request especially to the residents that live in the vicinity of the Banadir region.

He said: “I call upon you to work with us on the security of the capital Mogadishu. I send a request particularly to the residents that live in the vicinity districts. Mortar shells were fired from these districts.”

Banadir regional police chief said that everyone who shares information that will lead the arrest of those who fire mortar shells in the capital Mogadishu will be given a reward. He also promised that they will take charge of his/ her security responsibility.

He said: “Anyone who brings information regarding those that fire mortar shells in the capital or facilitate their arrest, we will give them a reward that they will be excited with. We will take a full responsibility by ensuring their security. We will give $ 30, 000 to  individual who brings the information in regard to the enemy who commits atrocities against the Somali populace. He urged the residents in Mogadishu to remain indoors late at night due to the mortar shells.

He said: “The security agencies will remain vigilant. We will take our time and investigate the districts were mortar shells are fired from.” He said: “I urge the residents to immediately share the information of the enemy whereabouts wherever you see.”
