Somali Federal sends delegation to Qardho town

The Somali government has dispatched on Friday a delegation to Qardho town of Puntland where rescue operations underway to save the locals from the recent floods that have hit the township.

The flash floods have destroyed properties and cliamed the lives of locals living in Qardho.

The objective of the delegation sent to Qardho in Puntland is to share the victims with displacement that was caused by the floods due to start of Gu rains in Somalia.

The delegation consists of planning minister, Jamal Mohamed Hassan, Fishery minister, Abdulahi Bidhan, state minister for finance, Mohamud Hayir, state humanitarian minister, Abdirashid Mohamed Hasan and lawmakers named Omar Waberi and Mohamud Maas.

The Somali government donated 1 million US dollars to Puntland provincial authority in order to cope with the massive floods that hit the township causing displacement, and the destruction of both property and human lives.
