President Musa Bihi Abdi has sent a message of congratulations to SL populace on the occasion of new Islamic year, marking the beginning of new year. He wished blessings from Allah to all Muslim communities at home and abroad. In Somaliland, public offices remain closed today on the auspicious occasion of the new year 1443. The civil servants are expected to go back to work tomorrow. The Head of State also wished property for the nation and the people in the years to come. The holiday marks the start of the new Islamic year across the country. This marks the day when Prophet Mohamed immigrated from Makkah to Medina. It is one of the common public holidays across Somaliland which is not coupled with celebration events.
