HARGEISA– The former Somaliland minister responsible for finance during Silanyo’s presidency, Hon. Abdiasis Mohamed Samale has said that there is no law authorizing the disbanding of National Election Commission (NEC).
The former minister who is among senior ruling party officials stated that the Electoral Commission is an independent body where they were commended for conducting free and fair presidential polls in 2018 in Somaliland.
The ex-minister has made the remarks during a meeting that the three political national parties held with the house of elders which was aimed at bringing the three political parties stance closer and make a major breakthrough in the disagreement over upcoming parliament and local council elections.
