Minister of Internal Affairs Hon. Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, said that the first duty of the country’s mayors is to protect the security, at the annual meeting organized by the Association of Local Governments ALGASL, which was held at the Damal Hotel in Hargeisa today.
Minister Kahin who made a speech at the conference said that it is the responsibility of the mayors to implement the decentralization and implementation of the basic services that the community needs.
He said that the mayors should play their role in the security of the districts they are in charge of, being their first duty to protect the security. the meeting discussed this year’s achievements, challenges that need solutions, and plans for next year.
The meeting was attended by the mayors of 23 constituencies, members of the Cabinet, and other officials led by the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland Hon. Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Sailici) opened the meeting.
The meeting of local governments was wrapped up this afternoon by the Minister of Internal Affairs Hon. Mohamed Kahin Ahmed.
