Jubaland Dervish Forces with combat vehicles advanced to liberate districts in Lower Jubba region which are under the control of the militant group of Al-Shabab.
The heavily armed Jubaland security forces moved to districts where they will conduct operations which are aimed at driving out Al-Shabab remnants from the region.
Jubaland State television broadcasted a video which showed well-equipped troops heading to the frontlines.
As reported by the television, the objective behind the troops movement is to drive out Al-Shabab militants from their stronghold districts which lie North of the Lower Jubba region.
Tension is running high as troops movement started in remote districts from Kismayo which Jubaland forces are reinforcing their presence.
Anti-terrorism operations are currently underway in Middle Shabelle region which is also Al-Shabab’s stronghold.
The Somali Gov’t in conjunction with U.S. Africa Command conduct airstrikes targeting Al-Shabab militants strongholds.
