The former director of Somalia’s National Security Service (NSS) Brigadier General Ahmed Suleiman Abdalla alais “Dafle” passed away last night in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
The late demise of Ahmed Suleiman Abdalla Dafle became the minister of interior and was a senior member of the revolutionary council of the military government by the later president of Mohamed Siad Barre. The late Ahmed Suleiman Dafle was an in-law to Mohamed Siad Barre.
He was born in Buroa Todger province in 1937. He was appointed as the director of Somalia’s National Security Service (NSS) in 1971 and remained in the helm for a number of years. The former director of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Fahad Yasin Haji Dahir has sent his sincere condolences to the death of late Ahmed Suleiman Dafle.
Fahad said that Dafle was one of the most influential politicians in Africa. He was responsible for ten countries in Africa to get their independence from the colonial powers.
Fahad Yasin said: “The power of the Somali National Security Service led to know what was happening in Mengistu Haile Mariam’s residence. The major victory that the Somali army reached in the 1977 war with Ethiopia was responsible for getting intelligence reports from Ethiopia’s Defense Forces. He was responsible for establishing the National Security Agency.”
Fahad Yasin said that once he became NISA’s director that he saw the history of late Ahmed Suleiman Dafle left behind. He was named after a mosque located in NISA headquarters.
