The former Somali Army Chief, Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyadin Adow, who gave an interview to Shabelle television, has talked about the assassination of the Commander of 14-October Battalion, Brigadier General Nuur Mohamed Gabow alias Nur Farey, who was killed yesterday by lone assailant.
General Ibrahim has told that the enemy has infiltrated into the Somali army and that gave advantage to the militant group of AL-Shabab.
The former Army Chief has pointed out the danger posed by the war with Al-Shabab.
He urged to remain vigilant in order to be cautious against the horrific acts of atrocities that the enemy causes.
Ibrahim said: ” We know the situation we are in. The enemy infiltrated the army. The reason is that there are individuals who are sneaked in the army in order to work for the enemy.”
He said: ” We do not have enough information. Once investigations are completed, it will prove whether the man who carried out the shooting was a soldier who was in cahoots with the enemy.”
He said that Commander Nuur Farey was a young army officer who was brave and was serving for his nation.
