Ethiopia, Russia Sign Roadmap On Nuclear Technology

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2019  –The Government of Ethiopia and Rosatom of the Russian Federation have signed an implementation roadmap to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

The agreement was signed at the 11th ATOMEXPO, taking place from 15-16 April, 2019 in Sochi, Russia.

It was signed by Dr-Ing. Getahun Mekuria, Minister of Innovation and Technology on the Ethiopian side Mr. Alexy Liknachev, Director General of Rosatom.

According to the agreement, Ethiopia will use nuclear technology for energy as well as to produce isotopes for health, agriculture and industry applications.
