Ms. Hibo Mumin, Djibouti’s Minister of Culture and Youth arrived in Somaliland on Friday to attend the inaugural ceremony of Hargeisa International Book Fair which will kick off in Hargeisa tomorrow. The Djibouti delegation headed up by the minister was greeted at the airport by Somaliland counterpart, Sulieman Yusuf Ali Kore together with the assistant minister for foreign affairs, Liban Yusuf. Hargeisa Int’l Book Fair selected number of minister from neighboring countries as the guest of honor in this year’s edition which will kick off on the 24th of July. High-powered delegation from Ethiopia’s Somali region have also arrived in Hargeisa. The deputy Gebiley governor plus the Wajale authority together with the Director General of the information ministry and the Chair of Hargeisa Cultural Center greeted the delegation upon reaching the border town of Tog Wajale which links Ethiopia to Somaliland. The Somali regional delegation from Ethiopia is headed by the minister in charge of Culture. The ministers deliver a speech at the opening session of the fair. Djibouti and Somali regional delegations are due to hold talks with Somaliland gov’t officials after the launching of the 14th Hargeisa International Book Fair.
