Police in Dhobley district, located in the Lower Jubba region, have recently apprehended a group of young people who were attempting to cross the Kenyan border into Libya. These individuals, who had traveled from Mogadishu, were suspected of being migrants and were stopped at the entry control in Dhobley city. The security forces became suspicious of their movements and lack of a guarantor within the city, leading to their arrest. According to a police statement, further investigations revealed that the youths were part of a larger network of migrants attempting to cross the border illegally. In addition, a vehicle from Mogadishu and several individuals believed to be involved in the trafficking of these young people were also seized during the operation. This incident highlights the growing concern over the dangers of human trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable young Somalis who are promised a better life abroad.
