The Al Shabab militants have struck a deal with 40 clan elders in Somalia to rally behind them in the fight against the presence of foreign troops in Somalia. The meeting took place in unspecified location in lower Shabele. The group conducted seminars for elders and finally reached the accord that the Somali elders would provide a helping hand to the islamists toppling the Somalia government backed by foreign troops. Some of elders who spoke promised to support the militant group insurgency.
