The National Consultative Conference (NCC) which is underway in the Somali capital Mogadishu enters its second day.
The meeting which kicked-off in Villa Somalia is presided over by the incumbent Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The meeting saw the attendance of the Somali Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister, regional leaders the likes of Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Southwest, the head of Lasanod regional authority and Banadir regional administration.
The presidential palace in Somalia has announced that issues including the current political situation of the country, liberation of areas under Al-Shabab’s control, the completion of the constitution, the rebuilding of Somali National Army (SNA) and developing the state-building were high on the agenda of the talks.
However, the Presidents of Puntland and Jubaland are not participating the National Consultative Conference (NCC) which commenced in Mogadishu due to a political row between Puntland, Jubaland and the Somali Federal Gov’t.
It is noteworthy that the Somali Federal Gov’t invited Puntland and Jubaland leaders to attend the (NCC).
Once the (NCC) is wrapped up, the leaders will issue a communique on issues that the regional and federal leaders have agreed.
The Somali populace are keeping an eye on the outcome of the National Consultative Conference (NCC).
