Somaliland opposition Wadani party leader has called on the incumbent SL president to offer full details on the meeting with Somalia’s president Mohamed Abdilahi Farmajo in Addis Ababa.

Abdirahman had returned to Somaliland yesterday and said the president must apprise the public about his covert meeting with Somalian leader at the sidelines of AU summit in Addis Ababa.

Villa Somalia and Somaliland both confirmed the meeting between the two leaders.

However, they had declined to offer details of the secret meeting and the issues that were high on the talks.

This is the first get together meeting between Famajo and Bihi ever since they came to power in 2017.

Somalian President Mohamed Abdilahi Farmajo had offered apologies over the massacre committed in the 1980’s by the Somali government against the Somaliland people.

This has been interpreted as an appeasement after Bihi and Farmajo held face to face meeting in Ethiopia.

Wadani party leader said that his party has endorsed the talks with Somalia but called on the government of SL but said that they must be given a room for consultation.

Irro and Bihi met in Addis Ababa prior to the meeting between Farmajo and Bihi facilitated by Ethiopia.

He said the meeting came following an appeal from president Bihi and discussed over the election and NEC dissolving.

Irro further added that the issues that he discussed with President Bihi did not make a major breakthrough.

He reiterated that the opposition parties are committed to hold election in 2020 and dissolve the National Electoral Commission.
