The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Ma’alin Fiqi on Friday announced that the Somali Federal Gov’t will take a tough decision that the Deputy Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, (DSRCC) for Somalia and Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Sivuyile Thandikhaya Bam, will not remain in the country.

The FM of Somalia has levelled accusations against Sivuyile of supporting the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group of Al-Shabab.

Mr. Fiqi has also said that Mr. Sivuyile has sent reports to the world indicating that he is a supporter of the militant group of Al-Shabab.

He pointed out that Sivuyile has delivered a speech to the United Nations Security Council and told that Al-Shabab wants to be part of the government and stopped killing of the Somali people, and abandoned its terrorist ideology.

He said: “The acting head African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) that he was gossiped covertly that he is a supporter of Al-shabab. It seems now that he cannot conceal that. We remained silent for quite some time. He became a supporter of Al-Shabab. He is jealous about the development in Somalia.”

The FM went on to say that Mr. Sivuyile does not like the progress in Somalia and it has now emerged.

Finally, sources within the ministry of foreign affairs of Somalia say that the ministry is planning to expel Mr. Sivuyile, a South African diplomat from the country.
