The National Intelligence and Security Agency, in coordination with Somali Military forces carried out coordinated airstrike in Boos-Hareeri district, killing 29 Al-Shabab militants including senior leaders.
Another airstrike conducted by NISA in Jambaluul district in Middle Shabelle region resulted the death of 12 Al-Shabab fighters. NISA informed the Somali populace to stay away from Al-Shabab hideouts in order to minimize civilian harm.
The Somali Military Forces intensified its operations against Al-Shabab fighters for the past week. According to the Somali Military Command, at least 50 Al-Shabab militants were killed in an airstrike carried out in Damasha Shabelow district in Middle Shabelle region.
According to the press statement released by the Somali military command, it said that a well-coordinated operation resulted the death of Mansour Timo-Weyne, who was responsible for the group when it comes to coordination of combat vehicles in which they use to launch attacks against Somali army.
The operation targeted senior Al-Shabab operative including Masnour Timo-Weyne who recently returned from Buulo-Fulay and was in a position to fix combat vehicles with mechanical problems.
NISA further said that another coordinated operation that occurred in Basro resulted the death of 16 Al-Shabab militants including senior leaders. The militant group were isolated in a rural area.
