The President of Hirshabelle Sttae, Hon. Ali Abdilahi Husein alias Gudlawe, who is spearheading the ongoing operations which are aimed at flushing out alshabab militants from the country has embarked on an inspection tour in order to boost the moral of Somali troops stationed in the frontlines.
The president reached Qurac-Madobe, War-Isse and Aqab-Duco areas in order to inspect the ground forces and to boost the morale of Somali troops as well as local clan fighters.
He urged both forces to remain ready when it comes to the ongoing efforts to drive out Alshabab from the territory.
SNA commanders who are leading anti-terrorism operations briefed the president the operations so far conducted in order to flush out Alshabab remnants from the region.
President Gudlawe said” ” Hirshabelle will not be a safe haven and a breeding ground for the terrorist group of Alshabab and that is why we all take up arms in order to eliminate alshabab terrorist group from the region.”
The president spoke of the killing of senior commander of Alshabab who was killed in an airstrike that occurred in El-Ba’ad district in Middle Shabelle region.
He said that the death of Dhego-naas was a victory for the Somali populace.
Yusuf Dhego-naas was killed in the airstrike that took place in El-Ba’ad which is under the administration of Ruunirgood district in Middle Shabelle region.
He was notorious for extorting money from local residents and terrorized the community.
He was responsible for conducting operations that alshabab launch attacks against gov’t troops in Middle Shabelle region.
The Somali gov’t planned to launch large scale attack in Middle shabelle region in order to liberate districts under Alshabab control.
The operations are aimed at weakening the capabilities of Alshabab and to stabilize the region.
