The President of Hirshabelle State H.E Ali Abdilahi Hussein alias Ali Gudlaawe, held a virtual meeting with the Ambassador of the United States to Somalia, Mr. Richard H. Riley today.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the ongoing operations which are aimed at eliminating the Jihadist group from Hirshabelle state. U.S. Ambassador Richard H. Riley was flanked by Col. Norris, who is the head of coordination of operations in Somalia. He expressed thanks to the president for accepting to attend the high level virtual meeting while his region is in state of war with Alshabab.
Riley has said that the U.S. stands with Hirshabelle state and is ready to work when it comes to getting rid of Al-Shabab remnants from the region. He revealed that the U.S. will support Hirshabelle in the areas of military and humanitarian side. The U.S. Gov’t lauded the incumbent Hirshabelle state president for spearheading the operations which are aimed at flushing out Al-Shabab remnants from the region. The President said: ” The U.S. has supported us at a difficult time. I expressed deep thanks to make contact with us. You play a lion’s share when it comes to the fight against extremism. You have invested in order Hirshabelle to remain free from extremist groups of Al-Shabab.”
